THE Day!

It's the day of my Prom!
I thought I'd write my to-do list for the day, just to make it easier for me to get everything done!
I know it's gonna be long, but this is just what I feel like doing to feel good on my prom.

To do before my prom:
  1. Wash the dishes
  2. Do my legs
  3. Pluck my eyebrows
  4. Paint my nails and toenails
  5. Empty and charge camera.
  6. Charge cellphone
  7. Prepare my clutch (don't forget pills and band-aids)
  8. Print a map for directions to the hotel
  9. Take a shower and brush teeth, exfoliate lips
  10. Hair
  11. Makeup
  12. Dress and accessories
  13. Film OOTN & FOTN.
That's it! It's not thaaaat long now that I think of it!

Happy Father's Day!

My father is my role model. I want to be everything like him, except in a feminine version. One thing my dad told me, and I will forever remember is this:
"La vie est belle. Il suffit de la regarder à travers la bonne paire de lunettes."
Which means "Life is beautiful. You just have to look at it though the right pair of glasses".
I love you, Dad.

My hair dyed!

Alrighty, I promised I'd do a post after I dye my hair.
*Please note that the color I chose was meant to be close to my natural hair color, only a bit more reddish.*
So, let me just take you through the process!
I wanted to re-dye my hair because, as you can see in the picture, it started to grow out and you can sorta see a difference, although small.
I chose this dye because I heard L'Oréal Paris ones are pretty good. It was 11,99$.
This color is called Light Red Brown, which is very similar to the color I dyed my hair previously.
These are the 3 products that come inside the box, other than the plastic gloves and the instructions.
So, first you have the developer cream, in which you squeeze in the No Ammonia Cream Color. Finally, you have the Healthy Shine Conditioner.
First step is to put the cream color in the cream developer. Shake it very well and then distribute it onto the hair evenly. Start with the roots and then do the rest of the hair. I recommend sectioning your hair to be sure to get it everywhere. When it's done, put it up in a bun and let it sit for 10 mins. Check the instructions as time may vary.
Then, you rinse it out until the water dripping from you hair is clear. Finally, you apply the Healthy Shine Conditioner and you keep it in your hair for at least 2 minutes. Rinse everything out and dry your hair!
I know, I look horrible in this picture, but I still wanted to show you the result! It came out pretty well. My hair looks normal brown but more reddish in natural lighting or in sunlight. The only thing I didn't like about this dye is that it stained a lot. The dye I used before didn't stain at all, and I kept it longer. I have stains on my arms, neck and forehead. Although, I really liked the "No Ammonia" part, and the glossy finish.
Overall, I'd probably rate this 4/5 stars, just because of the stains.

Coming soon...

I thought I'd share with you my future plans regarding this blog, but also regarding my life in general!
This is also going to help me stay on track with my posts!

So, here's what you can expect during the next weeks on my blog:
  • A mini-series of 6 blog posts reviewing Macadamia Natural Oil products.
I will do a separate post on each product, and one post to introduce what I purchased and my overall impression. I've mentioned these products in my latest video. Discover The Secret to Healthy Hair
  • Sunburn 101.
I'll just recommend some things to use before or after a sunburn. I think this might help anyone who's going to the beach!
  • Hair-dyeing post!
I plan to re-dye my hair before prom so I'm just gonna show you what I used, how it turned out, etc.
  • Prom beauty!
This will be a type of "Face of the Day" and "Outfit of the Day" post. I'll show you my makeup, my hair, and the dress obviously! Check out my Ready for Prom video series here!
  • Prom experience!
I'll tell you about my prom night, some things that happened, and also stories of the after-party! Expect pictures! This will probably be posted after I come back from my after-prom, which is at a chalet.
  • Summer reads.
I used to love reading, and I don't read as much now. So, now that it's Summer, I have all the time in the world! These will be sorta "book reviews". So, if you have any suggestions for books I should read, leave me a comment!

Enough with the blog, here's some things that I'm looking forward to in my life:
  • My dad, step-mom and little brother coming back from their trip. I miss them!
  • Seeing my best friend Yasmine... it's been way too long!
  • Prom on June 27th!
  • After-party during the night of June 27th to June 28th.
  • After-prom from June 28th to June 30th! This is gonna be wild...
  • Going swimming at my bf's house, and also celebrating 3 and a half years together on July 25th.
  • HOPEFULLY GET A JOB! -.-
  • Hang out with my friends as much as possible.
  • Film some nice videos, including a 3-in-1 foundation review/comparison. Any requests??

Don't be afraid of the Maxi Dress!

Hey ladies!
A huge trend this season is the maxi dress. There are of all types, and they can be seen pretty much anywhere! There are plain ones, multi-colored ones, patterned ones, and even fitted ones, although that kind of defeats the purpose of a "maxi" dress...

Although I think this trend is super cute and comfy, I have a hard time picturing myself rocking this type of piece. So, I created a look to get me inspired, and hopefully, show you how amazing it can look!
For you more conservative and hesitant girls (hey, I totally get it!), here are my tips for you:

  • Start with a plain uni-colored dress, in a neutral color. Black is an intense neutral, you might wanna give beige a shot on this one... It's summer anyway!
  • Accessories are super duper important with a maxi dress! Having the same type of fabric, pattern and color on your body can get boring if you don't spice it up!
  • Remember to stay in the colors close to what you have on your maxi dress, especially if it's a patterned dress. Too many colors will look odd!
  • Maxi dresses have a retro feel.. don't be afraid to go for more vintage looking accessories!
In this look, I chose a nice patterned dress with pretty neutral colors. I added some retro looking accessories like a crocheted hat and vest, without forgetting the pearls! Some hints of brown here and there, with the bag, the belt, and the ribbon on the hat. The nude sandals and the purple feather earrings add a more modern touch to the outfit.
Rock the Maxi Dress!
